Here's a short update just because, as usual, I don't feel like working on the essay I should very well be working on right now (rephrase: I'm looking for an excuse to procrastinate).
So, I'm currently on my three-week Easter break and I'm most likely going to be spending the entire break in Norwich. One week has passed, and I'm still trying to complete this one last piece of coursework I have for this semester, but, although I'm desperate to finish it to get it out of the way before I start my revision for my finals, I can't seem to bring myself to be interested enough in it to be writing and completing it. And what's funny is that I'm all like, "Ugh, go away, I don't want to write you (my essay), I want to study!" Like, wait what, Yi Hui, you're in the mood to study? That's a first! It's sad how humans are like that; when we're supposed to do a before b, for some reason, we end up feeling like doing b first.
Or, perhaps, how humans are never satisfied with anything? I've came up with this example and realised that it actually made a lot of sense:-
When there's a good ending (e.g. the guy who has been doing everything in his power to be with the girl he loves gets the girl in the end) in a drama series, people complain about how unrealistic the relationship in the drama series is and how there would never be such sort of love the couple in the drama series has for each other in real life (e.g. such a rich guy would never date a peasant-like girl like her / two people won't go through or do so much for each other in real life, etc.) and all that;
BUT when there's a bad ending (e.g. where one of the main characters die or something) in a drama series, people aren't satisfied either and they whine as well. They go all like, "Ugh, why are there shows which have such sad endings??? I'm never watching such shows any more!"
And then when there's an average ending to a drama series, people comment saying stuff like, "Meh, it wasn't all that good / that great, it was okay only."
See what I mean? Anyway, yeah. I'm going to make sure I get things done before the break ends this time. I can't afford to only start doing my revision right before my exams. Hell no to that.
Also, housing problems have been a major headache for me. It's been two months or so since I started looking for a place to move in for my next academic year and I've gotten pretty much nowhere at all. I don't know if it's right for me to be as frustrated as I was (and kind of still am) with the person who caused all this. It pisses me off to even just think about how we got into (or how I let myself get into) such a shitty situation, but I can't help but to stop to think and wonder if I'm partly at fault too? Very often, I think that I'm way too nice sometimes to the point where I tend to take the blame (or at least, partially) for others and/or take their side(s) even when they're causing problems for me. And maybe my putting up with such bullshit and forgiving people so easily (more like making it appear like I forgive people, since I don't think I ever fully forgive people that easily) is why people think it's okay to walk all over me. Like, no. Just because I'm nice, I'm still human, and that means that you're not given the right to treat me like shit or use me as a tool to irk someone else or whatsoever. Like, no, just no. Insensitive people get on my nerves. Just because your saying something or doing something doesn't hurt you, doesn't mean you have the right to disregard and/or play around with someone else's feelings. Ever heard of being considerate? Yeah I don't think you have, trying looking it up.

By the way, guess who's going to BBC Radio 1's Big Weekend in Norwich??? Yes,
I am. That's basically why I woke up at 7am this morning. We were told that tickets were going to be available from 8.05am this morning so I got up early and managed to get a pair! I think I have my lucky stars to thank again this time (it's like my third time lucky - I've won concert tickets twice before: once by being the first caller through to a radio station back home to win two passes to Justin's My World Tour concert; the other time by playing a game on MTV's website and managing to get to the "Congratulations you've won two passes to MTV World Stage Live in Malaysia 2012!" page, not to mention the other few times I've won albums, merchandise and stuff like that). I remember my brother calling me a 'lucker' (up till this day, I still don't believe that there's such a word but whatever...) when I was jumping around the house, yelling crazily after winning passes to the MTV World Stage concert back in 2012 as well as my sister getting kind of annoyed at how I somehow always manage to be lucky enough to win passes. I guess I didn't exactly win passes this time considering how the passes were free but I had to pay a handling fee of £3.50 for each pass. But still, I'm definitely grateful to have been able to get through to the website to fill out my details and get the tickets. Below's a screenshot of the page just 'cause I feel like attaching it here (it feels like a certificate of achievement of some sort, to be honest).

Anyway, that means that I'll be seeing Taylor Swift live! Woooooo! I'm looking forward to her performing Blank Space (she had better)! Also, I'm praying that the other acts for the day I have passes to (which BBC Radio 1 has yet to announce) are acts I'm familiar with. The main reason as to why I only bought tickets to Sunday's concert is because the acts for Saturday which have been announced so far are artists whom I'm not exactly familiar with - Florence + The Machine (I've heard of her and know a few songs of hers), Years and Years, as well as Context; the acts which have been revealed to be scheduled to perform on Sunday are Taylor Swift as well as Catfish and the Bottlemen. I have to admit I don't know who the second act is but at least I'm familiar with Taylor Swift and most of her songs, unlike Saturday's lineup! *keeps fingers crossed that it will be announced that artists I like will be performing on Sunday*
Okay, I think that's about it so far. I'm sorry that this turned out to be a partial rant (but I hope it made sense anyway)...
Till next time!
